Infrared Therapy

Infrared light is a unique treatment that harnesses the healing power of specific wavelengths of light to improve circulation, reduce inflammation and pain, decrease muscle spasm and stiffness and promotes healing of injured tissue.

Treatment with infrared light therapy is simple and painless. Flexible pads, each containing multiple infrared lights, are placed directly on the skin over the area of pain or injury. Energy from the lights penetrates beneath the skin and is absorbed by deep tissues. After just 30 minutes of treatment, blood flow is enhanced by 400 percent, and this boost in local circulation persists for several hours after the pads are removed.

Infrared light therapy is very beneficial in treating acute pain and edema, strains and sprains, including sports injuries, muscle spasm and stiffness associated with neck, back or joint pain and poor circulation associated with chemotherapy, diabetes and vascular diseases. Studies have shown that chronic arthritic conditions and loss of sensation due to diabetic neuropathy can be effectively remedied in 10-12 sessions.

Valley Rehab Center is the only clinic currently offering Infrared light therapy in the Ohio Valley. This innovative and successful intervention has helped many of our clients return to sports more quickly,  prevent or delay surgery to the knees, restore loss of sensation and decrease pain from diabetic neuropathy  and  reduce pain from spinal stenosis or degenerative disc disease. Infrared light therapy is covered by most insurance companies. Clients can also choose to self pay for a nominal fee of $25.00 per session which is less than most co-pays.
